Shock Of Kudirat’s Death Killed Aka-Basorun ~ Opadokun

Secretary of the National Democratic Coalition, Chief Ayo Opadokun, has said the assassination of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, a wife of the winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, caused the shock that eventually killed a former President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Alao Aka-Bashorun.
While recounting what transpired when Kudirat was murdered, he said the late lawyer’s health began to deteriorate after he saw how Kudirat was gruesomely murdered.
Opadokun, also a former Secretary-General of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, said Kudirat’s murder shocked members of NADECO.
“The way Abacha’s murderers terminated the life of that distinguished, beautiful lady, Kudirat Abiola, was unimaginable,” he said.
Describing those behind her killing as merciless, he said they never imagined such could happen. He added that it was the murder that made them to realise how difficult the situation had become.
Opadokun said, “I tell you, one of our most important and credible leaders, when he saw her remains, never lived long thereafter. This elderly, senior colleague – my confidant – was totally out of himself when I saw him on his return from a medical trip abroad.
“He never survived it. I am talking of Chief Alao Aka-Basorun. He didn’t recover from it. When I came out of prison, because I was there when Kudirat was killed, he was already abroad receiving medication.” he said.
He decried the discharge and acquittal of the prime suspect in the Kudirat’s murder case, Maj. Hamza al-Mustapha, a former Chief Security Officer to military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, by an appellate court.
While he called for further trial of the suspected murderers, he called the wrath of God on those responsible for Kudirat’s killing.
Opadokun said, “The blood of the people they killed will not allow them to rest. Like in the Shakespearean play, Macbeth, Macbeth murdered sleep and he slept no more until he himself faced death.
“I’m sure it’ll come at God’s own time. They can’t get away with it. They were so contemptuous of us. Somebody won a free and fair election and they denied him his victory. And because he pronounced himself as President, which he was legally competent to do, they went ahead to kill his wife and killed the husband later.
“It’s a heinous crime; it was very grave. I’m sorry; I have no apologies to make; the killers of MKO, Kudirat and Chief Bola Ige will never know peace again. No matter their temporary joy, really, their victory is Pyrrhic. It will soon turn out to shame and cry.”
Al-Mustapha, who had been sentenced to death on January 30, 2012, by a Lagos High Court over the murder, was on July 12, 2013, discharged and acquitted by the Lagos division of the Appeal Court.

Must Read!!! For Olamide [Badoo] It’s Time To Dine With The Big Boys

Grass to Grace & more Grace is the story of rapper Olamide,Barely 2 weeks ago, Olamide Adedeji, aka Badoo, signed a multimillion naira endorsement deal with alcoholic drink Ciroc Ultra Premium vodka. This made him the first Nigerian ambassador for the alcoholic beverage.
Before the success, Olamide said:
“I hardly got invited to perform at shows. When invited, I was rarely respected because of my background. Sometimes, I had to walk from my house to the venue of the show and back because it was obvious I wouldn’t get paid.”
Being in a season where entertainers are reaping the fruit of their labour big time through endorsements, it is a good thing that the young lad’s efforts finally paid off.
Although the worth of the deal was not disclosed, Punch’s Saturday Beats gathered that the money was so much that it had to be sent in three tranches. No wonder he recently acquired a brand new Range Rover SUV.
By signing Olamide as ambassador, Ciroc is adopting the similar marketing model practised in the US. The likes of French Montana, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Ray Jay, Funkmaster Flex are all ambassadors for the drink.
Badoo, as he is fondly referred to, Olamide has also been hobnobbing with some of the industry big names, especially D’banj. Pictures of the duo surfaced online and their instant closeness aroused the speculation that he had been signed to the Koko Masters record label.
The rumours were not farfetched as D’banj’s brother, Kayswitch’s tweet to Olamide, welcoming him to the family, propelled the rumours. Also, since his split with Don Jazzy, D’banj has not been so close to other Nigerian entertainers.
However, Olamide’s success did not happen overnight. He succeeded in filling the vacuum late Dagrin left and it was not an easy ride. He told Life and Beats that before his fame came his way, he hardly got invited for shows.
The light at the end of his tunnel came through a prominent producer, ID Cabassa, who helped nurture him. He stated that when he met Cabassa, he was advised to be patient and learn the ropes.
He said, “When I met Cabassa, he told me that I would not start work immediately, that I had to learn the ropes. I had to take my time. I was always going to the studio.”
He said it took hard work and God’s blessing before he succeeded. He stated that he had to come up with a strategy with his producer, Mr Pheelz, which worked for them.
“I had to give my producer some CDs to listen to; most of them were foreign hip-hop. I told him I wanted my album to sound different. Although I am doing ghetto music, the sound has to be appealing. The idea is that those who do not understand the language will listen to the music and love it. We had to take our time. We recorded over 40 songs for the album but had to select the best,” he told Saturday Beats.

“Tonto Dikeh Is Such A Rot And Lacks Every Bit Of Home Training” ~ Movie Producer

Popular Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh’s acting may be going south following threats from some movie producers and director to relegate her to the background as a result of what they described as her rude conduct recently at a location in Asaba.
“That little brat, apart from her addictions to marijuana, doesn’t give a damn about whose ox is gored, she abuses, throw tantrums and fights on set at any slightest provocation and we must make sure she’s humiliated.
“She seems to have gathered too much weight and has hurriedly forgotten those days when she used to go on bended knees for a ‘waka pass’ role in movies. We’ll teach her a lesson.”
According to sources, Tonto Dikeh who was playing a lead role in a movie at a location in Asaba, provoked the anger of a top movie director by her unbecoming display on set.
The director hasn’t stopped telling everyone hisnasty experience at the hands of the controversial actress.
According to the director who craved anonymity:
“Tonto Dikeh is such a rot and lacks every bit of home training, apologies to her parents. I tried to control myself in order not to disrupt the set, but I got upset over the kind of insults Tonto heaped on the makeup artist on the set; a woman old enough to be her mother.
“She liberally used words like, ‘Are you stupid, don’t you know what you are supposed to do? Must I remind you before you’ll know you are supposed to make me up?’ on the woman who was at the verge of throwing back some punch lines at her.”
Consequently, a group of directors and producers have decided not to feature the actress who currently is not even in good terms with many actress, due to her recent outburst on the social

Lover Set Pregnant Girlfriend On Fire Over False Accusation

Posted by wonderboyjay

Until June 23, not many could have suspected that all was not well between Emeka Agu, 28, and his pregnant girlfriend, Miss Bidemi Akinsolufe. That night, disaster struck in their home in Ayobo area of Lagos, as Emeka allegedly set his lover ablaze.

The reason? To prevent the lady from charming other men with her beauty. Nearly a month after, Bidemi still writhes in pain at the Gbagada General Hospital, even as Emeka awaits his date with the law. The reporter met the badly burnt lady on her hospital bed and she narrated what led to the sad incident.

“I started dating him last year but my boyfriend is very jealous. Even whenever my sister called me, he would want to call back to be sure it wasn’t a man that called me. “He was working before and had his own place but he later lost his job and had no place to stay. I secured a mini-flat in Ayetoro and asked him to join me there.

We had been living together since then. “Recently, when I took in, he asked me to stop working and I did. But he drinks a lot. He spends his money on alcohol and I always told him that I was worried that his liver might be destroyed. He doesn’t trust me; he thinks I date other men.

“He used to work in the night as a bouncer in a hotel. The day before he set me on fire, his former boss had summoned him and I thought maybe the man wanted to offer him a job. So, on the morning of that day, Sunday, June 23, I called him to know if he had gone to the man’s place.

As we were speaking on the phone, he told me he was already high. And I asked him why he should spend his money on alcohol when I was hungry at home. “I was angry, so I went to report him to his friend. His friend then called him and talked some sense into him. But when he knew that I was with his friend, he became angry and accused his friend of sleeping with me. He said he would suck my blood for sleeping with his friend.

I was even explaining to him that I couldn’t be sleeping around with my pregnancy but he wasn’t convinced. He began to call me names, that I was a useless woman. He later said it was all right, that he wasn’t angry again.

So, I went back home. “When I got back home, one of my friends told me that Emeka had reported me to her, saying I locked him outside in the rain. So, when I got to our apartment, I begged him and my friend also begged him. He said he was no longer angry but I didn’t know he still had plans to deal with me.

“After a while, he pretended as if he wanted to go to the toilet and while walking past me, he suddenly gave me a terrible slap. Then he began to beat me. In fact, I had never been so thoroughly beaten since I was born.

He had only slapped me on two earlier occasions. That night, I was yelling for help but I guessed people weren’t hearing me outside. I was crying and threatening to pack out of the apartment. “Then he said he would destroy my beauty. But I didn’t believe he would do anything so devilish.

Then he went to the kitchen, brought out the stove and poured the kerosene on me. He lit a match and threw it at me and I was burning. I rushed to the kitchen to get water but he was pushing the buckets of water away. I was yelling and crying.

Then after some time, he began to say to me: ‘My babe, your face is burnt, I’m sorry.’ “I didn’t even know that my face was badly burnt. I initially thought my hands were the only parts affected until much later when I saw my face in the mirror.

“When he realised the damage he had done, he began to beg me, saying he would marry me. He said I should stay inside, that he would go and get raw pap to apply on the burnt parts of my body. But as he wanted to go out of the apartment, I followed him. He said he wasn’t running away, that he just wanted to get the pap and get back. And I said okay, but I was following him.

He kept pushing me back but I insisted on following him out. Later, one of our neighbours, a man, knocked on our door and asked what was wrong with me. He replied that there was no problem but I shouted that the man should come in to save my life.

I told the man that the door wasn’t locked, that he should push it. Eventually other neighbours came and pushed the door open and I immediately ran outside so that everyone could see me. I think that was when I passed out.” After she lost consciousness, some of her neighbours quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital from where she was transferred to the Gbagada General Hospital. Meanwhile, the neighbours also alerted the police in Ayobo, who came to arrest Emeka.

Bidemi also told the reporter: “He told me it was the devil’s handiwork but I know God would repay him. I leave everything to God. I have been hospitalised here now since then, and my people have been spending money on me.” “Initially, I thought no man would want me any longer since he had destroyed my face. But my people said no, that they wouldn’t allow me near him again.

They said he should write an undertaking that he wouldn’t come after me but I’ve been told that, even with an undertaking, he might still try to harm me. I will have the baby but he must never ask for my child. I want him to face the music. I want justice to be done.”

Bidemi’s mother, Mrs. Nike Adeyemi, also spoke with the reporter. Said she: “Some good neighbours took my daughter to a nearby hospital and asked her boyfriend to stay with her there. They then secretly invited policemen to arrest him. We are already in court.” “I have spent all I have to treat my daughter.

None of Emeka’s people has paid a dime out of the heavy hospital bills. We have spent over N200, 000 now and we are still spending. The doctor said we would need, at least, N500, 000 for comprehensive treatment for my daughter because her face and hands have been badly burnt.

You can see the wounds are still looking fresh even after over three weeks. I don’t even have any money for her treatment any more.

I’m so fed up. One of Emeka’s sisters came to me with policemen from Ikoyi. She offered to pay me N40, 000 so that the boy would be released. I refused to collect the money because I said it was even an insult for her to offer that little amount when we were being asked to bring N500, 000.

“I don’t even know where to turn to for help. Please, help me beg compassionate Nigerians to come to our aid. I don’t want my daughter to die. I think we will also have to do something about her pregnancy because I don’t ever want her to have anything to do with that boy any longer.”

The reporter spoke with Emeka’s sister, who allegedly offered N40, 000 to Bidemi’s family. Her words: “I don’t know what to do again. I didn’t know when Emeka and Bidemi started their friendship.

I didn’t send him to set the girl ablaze. I’m even tired of everything. I am a widow myself and I don’t have money. I have even used the N40, 000 that I offered her to take care of some other issues. I’m tired of the whole issue and I don’t know what to do.”

WOW!! Women Forced To Eat And Become Fat In Other To Find Husbands

Posted by wonderboyjay

A belief that big is beautiful is causing a self-inflected obesity crisis in a West African country and putting the lives of women at risk.
In Mauritania, that lies between the Western Sahara and Senegal, women are encouraged to gain as much weight as possibly from childhood in order to be considered attractive.
Having a fat wife is desirable and is a sign of wealth and prestige in the country where food is in short supply.
n their quest to find a husband, many of the women are being pushed to dangerous lengths to gain weight from being force fed to taking pills that are not fit for human consumption. U.S. journalist Thomas Morton was sent to Mauritania to investigate the problem for the HBO documentary series,Vice.
But he wasn't just to observe what was happening - he had to eat the diet of theMauretanian women and take the pills they took to see what impact it had on his health.

He found that girls are fattened up from the age of eight by their families in a practice referred to as 'gavage' - a French word that means force feeding and is used to describe the fattening of geese to make foie gras. Once they reach a marriageable age, girls are sent to 'fat camps' in the desert where they are fed 15,000 calories a day.
For breakfast, the girls have breadcrumbs soaked in olive oil washed down with camel's milk. They then have frequent meals throughout the day of goat's meat, bread, figs and couscous, all with more camel milk to drink.

Morton found that many refer to the over-eating as torture and parents have been known to crush their daughters' toes with pincers if they resist.
After trying the diet, Morton put on nearly a stone in two days and was left feeling bloated and unhealthy.
He said: 'It feels like the food has filled my entire chest cavity and is now deflating my lungs.' He questioned how the women must feel having to do this over a lifetime given how terrible it made him feel after two days. Their obesity also means the women are more likely to suffer from  ill-health and develop problems like heart disease.
Morton said he felt sick from the food he was having to consume, a problem often experienced by the Mauretanian women. So they have found another way to gain weight that's easier to stomach but just as damaging to their health - taking pills.
One local woman told Morton: 'Medication is the modern form of gavage. Women use steroids and they are taking pills made from birds. These pills are not meant to be used by humans.'
The women said the animal growth hormones end up giving the women who take them a disproportionate body shape with a big stomach, face and breasts but thin arms and legs.
She said: 'The person now looks more like a seal than a human being.'
The pill taking can also have dangerous side effects from infertility to heart failure.
She said: 'Women can't have children because of this type of gavage. The big problem is this often leads to heart failure, repeated heart attacks, rare are the ones who escape. There are consequences - diseases, malformations and insanity.'
In a separate study, Paula Braitstein from Indiana University and Moi University in the U.S. found that almost a quarter of women in Mauritania reported being force fed as a child and 32 per cent of women and 29 per cent of men in the country approved of the practice.
Braitstein writes that 'these practices are unlikely to be discontinued in the near future without considerable effort to change cultural norms.'

A yet to be confirmed report according to elombah.com has it that Major Hamza Al-Mustapha may have been Promoted to Brigadier General. The

A Court of Appeal, sitting in Lagos, discharged and acquitted him over an alleged conspiracy and the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, on June 4, 1996.
The court had upturned a death sentence handed down on him on Jan. 30, 2013, by Justice Mojisola Dada, of a Lagos High Court.
